Biography
Over the past few years, Moore continued to pursue his coaching passion. He just recently started his own player development business called Moore Training. In 2017, Moore joined Sean Hannon and the Carolina Knights located in Cary, North Carolina with his assistance, he led them to become a nationally ranked program. Lamar Moore served as an Associate Head Coach at Thomas University. In his two-season, Moore coached 4 All-Sun Conference players and seven Academic All-Sun Conference players. He assigned eight to nine elite players for Thomas University for day-to-day operations with the academy. He arranged hotels, buses, and meals for every game. He helped to manage the budget and ordered gear.
Before joining Thomas, Moore spent his time on working in law enforcement while staying connected to the athletics community as a volunteer coach with the Police Athletic League and Key West High School’s basketball programs. In the late 2000s, Moore competed professionally for the American Basketball Association (2006-2007), Continental Basketball Association (2007), NBA D-League (2008), the Ukraine Basketball Tour (2009), and Howard Pulley Pro-Am Basketball Summer League (2010).
During his collegiate playing career, Moore was a member of the Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball program as a teammate to TU’s head men’s basketball coach, Brent Crews. The six-foot guard was a two-year letter winner and was named team captain for the 2005-2006 seasons. He began his collegiate career at Vermillion Community College in Ely, Minn., under head coach Paul McDonald. As a sophomore, Moore was named Third-Team NJCAA Division II All-American and First-Team All-Region, averaging 21 points, six rebounds, and two steals per game. The Key West, Fla., native earned an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts and Science from VCC and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from FAU (2007). Moore is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling from Thomas. Currently, Moore resides in Chapel Hill, NC
Mission
Moore Training purpose is to teach, develop, manage and offer youth players the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills of basketball while instilling life-lessons and values such as character, teamwork, discipline, respect and sportsmanship. “Moore Training mission is to dramatically improve every player’s skill level each season. By focusing on both the physical and mental aspects of the game. Coach Lamar Moore will work with every player to set achievable goals designed to increase their ability, confidence and competitive drive. The end result should be each individual player’s enhanced capacity to triumph against the highest levels of competition on and off the court.” Coach Lamar Moore will provide the proper teaching techniques to help players succeed. Coach Lamar Moore goal is to provide every player with the tools to succeed. I am committed to creating a positive culture, in which coaches, parents, fans, officials, and players work together to achieve this mission. Moore Training can provide individual evaluation for all players. Individual evaluation will include dribbling, shooting, passing, and game-like situation drills. Our goal is to provide every player with the tools to succeed.
